Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland and is mixture of medieval, Georgian, and modern architecture. The heart of Edinburgh is the Royal Mile running from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace, the Queen's residence in Scotland.

We took a tour of Mary King's Close, part underground Edinburgh, seeing homes and business buried beneath the existing city.

The next day Hutchisons picked us up and we drove to St. Andrews. We stopped at a small fishing village on the way and talked with the retired lobsterman pictured above. We visited the Old Course and stopped at the ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral. We returned to Edinburgh and caught the 5:30 train to London.
